Cross country – a specialist magazine for para-gliders and hang-gliders – lists paragliding in Traslasierra as one of the world’s top paragliding destinations and in 2014 it hosted the Paragliding World Cup Tour. Traslasierra literally means behind-the-hill, it is a relatively flat valley behind the Cordoban sierras. The sierras rise up from the valley almost at 90º angle, from a distance they appear to be a vast wall. This unique topography and the spectacular views of the sierras and across the low rolling hills of the neighbouring San Luis province are what make Traslasierra such a special destination for paragliding.
