Cerro Catedral & Cerro Bayo

Cerro Bayo & Cerro Catedral, Patagonia Lake District
Cerro Catedral
Cerro Catedral & Cerro Bayo (Mount Catedral & Mount Bayo) are the two ski resorts that lie within the great Nahuel Huapi National Park, in Patagonia’s Lake District. Catedral lies in the southern end of the park near the largest town in the area, San Carlos de Bariloche, while Cerro Bayo is situated at the other end of Lake Nahuel Huapi, above the small picturesque town of Villa La Angostura. The two resorts are the oldest and best developed ski resorts in Argentina with over 1,400 hectares of skiable land, 130 km of slopes and 49 lifts between them. However, for experienced skiers, the skiing is best known for its huge and varied back country.
The two towns are also home to some of Argentina’s best restaurants and accommodations, though what is most special about the two resorts is skiing in the jaw-droppingly beautiful scenery. The Lake District is magical in the summer though when its mountains, forests and lakes are covered in snow it feels like you have walked into a fairytale.
