Wildlife Safaris

Across Argentina and Chile there is a vast array of wildlife, from over a thousand species of birds, including penguins, flamingos, toucans and those two emperors of the skies the albatross and the condor, as well as many endemic species. On the Patagonian coast you can see the big marine five: sea lions, sea elephants, orcas as well as several species of dolphins and whales. Back on land, there are many species of wild cats including jaguar and puma, and a variety of other mammals from tapirs, capybaras, ant bears, to maned wolves and armadillos.

Travel logistics

  • This of course depends what you are hoping to see, the migratory species are time specific, though there are many permanent colonies of varies species. During the preparation of your trip we will talk you through the best times to visit in order to give you the best possible chance to see the species you are looking for.
  • The best chance to see certain species is to go places least trodden by people, these can be tricky to get to and require experienced guides and some careful planning. We’ve spent year creating relationships with some of the best guides across the regions we work within and carefully build each trip to make the travel times as much the experience as the destinations.
  • We’ll advise on which equipment you need depending on your trip, though a good pair of binoculars is always useful when on a wildlife safari.

Things to keep in mind

  • In many cases, the best times to see wildlife is very early in the morning and late evening or at night time. If you are not keen on early starts, let us know and we’ll help you figure out ways to work around this.
  • We obviously do not have much control over the local wildlife, the guides we work with give our guests the best possible chance to see the species though it is not possible to guarantee sightings.
