In the old days almost everything consumed on a farm was produced on the farm and so it still is at Buena Vista, a charming Estancia in Corrientes province, northeast Argentina. Their kitchen garden hosts not only all the usual suspects but also many fruit and vegetables indigenous and unique to this area of South America. On the estancia there are herds of cattle, sheep, pigs, goats, buffalo, flocks of geese and chickens and our favourite, a pure bred herd of Argentina’s national breed of horse, the Creole.

Accommodation & Activities
Buena Vista is the family home of the Liebig family and whilst at the Estancia they will be your hosts. The main house has seven comfortable double rooms, a large spacious living room and a lovely high veranda. The house is surrounded by a beautiful garden that leads out onto the farm.
The majority of the farm’s activities are based around looking after the animals, whether out on the farm….

…or working in the corrals.

There are also bicycles for the use of the guests and horse and cart rides can be organised as well.

The Estancia is fortunate to be the home of an abundance of wildlife including, Caiman, Capybara’s (like giant hamsters) and a vast array of birdlife.

Boating through the wetlands of Pucu, one of the Estancia’s bets places for bird watching.
The Corrientes river runs along one side of the Estancia and there is some excellent fishing in the area. The celebrity of region is the Dorado fish, a large salmon like fish known for its difficulty to land. For the keen fisherman we can organise trips based entirely round the sport using the Estancia as your base.

In the evenings there is a games room with a ping-pong and snooker tables and it is also possible to have lesson of the local dances.

And if you tire of the farm activities, you can hang up your spurs and relax by the pool or play volley ball, football or croquet in the garden – there’s even a rough driving range if you want to practise your golf swing.
